Nowadays, almost everyone has a blog, a Facebook page, and a Twitter account. And we’re not just talking about individuals; businesses (like us!) as well. Social media is one of the fastest and probably most cost-effective ways to get your message out to the masses, which explains why today it’s considered a must-have piece in any corporate marketing strategy. But in order to develop a successful social media plan, it’s important to understand which tactics are most effective so that you invest the appropriate amount of time on each activity.
So where exactly should you be focusing the most effort, you ask? According to MarketingSherpa’s latest 2011B2B Marketing Benchmark Report, it should be on your corporate blog. Blogging was found to be the most effective social media tactic, beating out activities like using social media to improve search engine optimization (SEO) or sharing content on multimedia sites like YouTube. On the flip side, however, is the fact that respondents also rated blogging as the most effort-consuming.
Now before you let that finding scare you off the idea of blogging, don’t forget that the effort you put in will ultimately pay off. And if you’re lacking the resources, just remember: Eccolo is here to help!
