Hey everyone, on July 9th I'm flying to Edinburgh, Scotland to attend the TEDGlobal Conference. TED is an acronym for Technology Entertainment Design and if you don't already know about their local, national, and global conferences, you should. I'm pasting the conference description from the TEDGlobal website below:
What is life? And how can it be better lived? From the secrets of the biological processes that take place in our body, to the cultural constructs that take place in our society; from the technologies and resources that make life possible and enjoyable, to the themes that define our humanity -- or threaten it: TEDGlobal 2011 will be a celebration of life, in all its forms.
Who could say no to that? By the way, be sure to view the video on the home page when you're there--it will thrill you to the point of tears.
I've wanted to attend TED for years, and TEDGlobal will be a great first TED experience for me. From a personal and professional perspective, I'm ready to play a role as a global citizen and I hope to come away with a hugely expanded perspective on the world and the ways technology is transforming it. Have I mentioned recently that I love technology?
The conference starts July 11th and I will be blogging about the interesting things I'm learning as frequently as I can. Please sign up for our Twitter and/or RSS feed to get instant notification when a new post hits the blog. I promise to be as succinct and interesting as possible!
Talk with you soon from Edinburgh.
