Eccolo, MarCom and NYC in October

Hey, we’re getting very excited about our possible invitation to present at Web 2.0 this October.  Since we initially submitted our proposal and posted our video on the MarCom Mashup topic, we have been in conversation with the folks at Adobe.  They have agreed to participate with us as a speaker if we are selected to present, providing an overview of what’s the coming down the line for Acrobat products when it comes to integrating social media into discreet marketing documents.

 

Eccolo has been selected by Adobe to participate in the beta phase of its new product development cycle, so we plan on sharing lots of tips and tricks on how you can build greater interactivity in to your PDF documents—stay tuned for the update. MarCom Mashup ideas in action

We've gotten some great comments on our video submission for the Web 2.0 Expo later this year. We've also gotten some good questions about how the MarCom Mashup concept can actually work, including this one from Jeff @darksidemarketr:

"Sounds like a good idea from 30,000 feet. However, it doesn't mean much to me without seeing some specific examples of how people might comment on those documents... Can you follow up with any sort of example proposing how to do this, or show a mockup of how it might work, or is it too early?"

We're glad you asked that, Jeff, because next week we're set to release our first publication that puts these MarCom Mashup ideas into action. Our newest guide, Five Steps to Quality Lead Management Content, will feature a link to this blog where readers can comment and create an ongoing discussion about the ideas presented in the document.

Introducing MarCom Mashup

We spend a lot of time at Eccolo thinking of ways to push the boundaries of traditional content and collateral. How can customers engage with marketing materials more effectively, especially when they're in a format that doesn't encourage commentary? Is there a way to add value to collateral by making it more interactive? Should customers add their own ideas to collateral to spark innovation?

We're going to explore these ideas and more as part of a new effort we're calling MarCom Mashup. So what exactly is it? In short, MarCom Mashup encompasses everything you can do to harness what people love about Web 2.0 technology to make marketing content more effective.
